The answer to most questions is just a Google search away, but if you're answering a question someone else has asked, it's not easy to share the answer with them without copying a usually very long link. Google is attempting to fix that on mobile devices in the latest Google app with a share button.
As 9To5Google reports, the latest Google app beta on Android has added a new share button which appears to the right of the voice search button in the top right corner of the screen. Performing a search and then tapping the share button will allow the search results page to be shared with others using a search.app.goo.gl link.
As you'd expect, the page the shared link loads depends on where the recipient is opening it. Smartphone users will have the link loaded in the Google app, where as PC and Chromebook users will load the page as a search page in a desktop browser.
Recipients may not see the exact same set of results as you saw when you sent the link. It all depends on the type of search performed, for example, if you're looking for somewhere to eat locally the shared link will take into account the location of the recipient when they open the link and adjust the results accordingly. You can of course stop this happening by being very specific with your search term.
For now, this new share button remains a beta release feature, but I can't see it being dropped as a feature because it really is a useful addition to the app. Hopefully it doesn't take Google too long to roll it out to the release version so we can all take advantage of easier results sharing.
