Police in Northampton, Massachusetts, were able to save a trapped raccoon from a sewer grate Wednesday evening — and what an adorable trapped raccoon it was.
Before the big rescue, someone snapped a photo of the stuck little guy. We'll be honest: even in his moment of peril, he looks very cute. And very, very stuck.

Luckily, it wasn't long before an animal control officer was able to slip him safely out of the drain.
Like most difficult tasks, all it took was a little bit of cooking oil.
What a relief.
Remarkably, the raccoon sustained no injuries from the incident or the rescue. This means we can all laugh about it now, right? Great.
We wish the little critter luck in getting the oil out of its fur.
