Would you pay for an Airbnb in a gas station mart that doesn’t have a bed or shower, but does lock you in?
Whether or not, owner Pete Shen has nothing to lose with his new side business.
SEE ALSO: Abandoned buses become boutique hotel rooms at Chinese resortIn an interview with local news station KSBW Action News 8, Shen explains that he is charging $50-$90 a night for the "room" at Sanborn and Market Gas in Salinas, California, which is located just off the freeway.
The nightly fee also gives you unlimited access to snacks and drinks, conveniently located all over your bedroom.
Shen is charming and humble throughout KSBW's interview. He told them, "Maybe people might like it, maybe people may not like it...So, [we'll] see how it goes."
Check in is at 10 p.m. and check out is at 5 a.m. The security camera remains on all night — so we wouldn't recommend bringing a date over when you're staying there.
At time of writing, the "Gas Station Stay Over" has sadly been taken down from Airbnb — perhaps because it was so cozy, its first guest decided to move in.
